Happy Places ~ Forno
Updated: Oct 5, 2018
Forno is the Italian word for Family. Actually, it's not. It's the Italian word for oven, but if you have been to the restaurant Forno 301, you know it equals Family.
Luca Gagliano, one of the owners, considers his staff and patrons to all be family and the love most certainly shows in this happy place.
The food is classic, clean Italian fare with homemade pastas (the spinach~ricotta ravioli in a light butter sage sauce is my fave: the gnocchi in pesto sauce is my daughter's). The wood fired pizza is divine and I am hereby proclaiming their Eggplant Parmesan to be the best in the world. Yes, you heard me...THE BEST IN THE WORLD. If you have room for dessert the panne cotta is amazing as is the tiramisu (and previously I didn't even like tiramisu until I had theirs).
A friend and I recently decided that while we have our favorites, there hasn't been anything that we have not liked.
I could go on and on and on about all of the wonderful people (including my boyfriend, Roberto and my dear, dear friend, Sandra) and learning to swear in Italian and more about the food...oh my, the food, but I'll just stop now. You get it...go...go to Forno!
